The Three Forks High School Girls' Basketball team extended its win streak to five games with two conference victories last week.
The Lady Wolves (7-3, 4-2 5B) opened the week with a thrilling 42-41 win on January 16 at rival Manhattan.
Head Coach Shayla Stemple said it was another big game for Maya Noble, who finished with a team-high 20 points and hit both the shot to send the game to overtime and the winning basket in the extra period.
"I'm very proud of all the girls for battling and getting the win," Stemple said.
Madelyn Tesoro finished with 12, Bella Jones and Kylee Reichman had three, and Devynn Judd and Mikayla Lear had two.
One night after the hard-fought rivalry win, Three Forks came out strong, taking a 28-14 halftime lead on their way to a 58-34 home win over Lone Peak.
"We knew we had to take care of business tonight. That was the biggest thing we talked about. We needed to jump on them early and not let them back in it," Stemple said.
Tesoro led the team in scoring with 19, Noble had 12, Devynn Judd finished with eight, Hailey Williams had seven, Lear finished with four, Izzy Harris had three, Reichman and Arabella McCauley had two, and Jones finished with one.
"Our defense has been great. I'm just so proud of them. We've got some grit and were showing that," Stemple said.
The Lady Wolves will look to avenge their only two conference losses in the first half of 5B play when they host Boulder on January 24 and Ennis on January 25.
"We have a tough week with Boulder and Ennis. It's adjustment time now. What type of adjustments can we make to better our team? I think our girls are ready for it," Stemple said.
