Phenomenal second half performance propels Wolves to win over Lone Peak

One night after a 55-47 road win at rival Manhattan, the Three Forks High School Boys' Basketball team found themselves down 35-25 with 1:40 left in the first half to visiting Lone Peak. After cutting the lead to 36-33 at halftime on January 17, the Wolves (8-1, 6-0 5B) would explode in the second half, outscoring the visiting Big Horns 52-19 on their way to an impressive 84-55 victory.

Head Coach Terry Hauser said Lone Peak was making some tough shots in the first half and needed to do a better job on closeouts, but they were able to weather the storm and cut the lead to three at halftime.

"I have been waiting for everything to click and everyone to play together. I told them that was impressive. We scored 52 points in the second half. That's the best half of basketball we've played all year, and we need to build on that and keep improving," Hauser said.

The Wolves scoring attack was well-balanced, with four players in double figures, led by Dylan Swenson, who scored 22, and Hunter Feddes, who scored 21.

Kanon Reichman had 14, Drydan Frisinger finished 12, and Aaron DeFrance and Brody Wiseman had four.

Wyt Oliver, Devon Long, and Brady Olson finished with two, and Sawyer Andersen had one point.

"Tonight, and last night (January 16), we pounded it inside where we are getting better and better. We can attack guys off the dribble and get the ball in high-low action," Hauser said.

The Wolves started strong on January 16 against Manhattan, taking a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The host Tigers would cut the lead to 25-20 at halftime before Three Forks put together an impressive quarter, outscoring Manhattan 21-9 to take a 46-29 lead into the fourth.

DeFrance led the team in scoring with 19, Swenson had 16, Reichman and Frisinger had nine, and Andersen finished with two.

Three Forks will host Jefferson (Boulder) on January 24 and Ennis on January 25.
